Study focus: Scripture confirms that witchcraft, sorcery, divination, manipulation, rebellion, and occult practices are forbidden by YAHUAH. At the same time, the response of the people of YAHUAH must remain aligned with Scripture: submit to YAHUAH, resist the devil, walk in the Ruach, expose darkness, pray for deliverance, refuse fear, and overcome evil with good.

Core Scriptures
- Acts 8:9-24 — Simon practiced sorcery and bewitched the people, but the power of YAHUAH through the Good News exposed the false power and called him to repentance.
- Galatians 5:19-21 — Witchcraft, also translated sorcery, is listed among the works of the flesh.
- Deuteronomy 18:9-14 — YAHUAH forbids divination, witchcraft, sorcery, omens, mediums, spiritists, and seeking the dead.
- Ephesians 6:10-18 — The battle is spiritual, and the armor of YAHUAH is required.
- James 4:7 — Submit to YAHUAH, resist the devil, and he will flee.
- Isaiah 54:17 — No weapon formed against YAHUAH’s servants shall prosper.
Witchcraft aligned with Scripture
- Witchcraft is a work of the flesh and a form of rebellion against YAHUAH. It is not presented as harmless spiritual curiosity; it is forbidden because it seeks power, knowledge, control, or guidance apart from YAHUAH.
- Cross references: Galatians 5:19-21, 1 Samuel 15:23, Deuteronomy 18:10-12, Micah 5:12
- Sorcery can deceive and control people. In Acts 8, Simon used sorcery to amaze the people and draw attention to himself, but the Good News of Yahusha exposed the difference between false power and the power of YAHUAH.
- Cross references: Acts 8:9-13, Acts 13:6-12, 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, Revelation 18:23
- YAHUAH’s people must not seek occult power or hidden knowledge. The people of YAHUAH are called to seek Him, His Word, and His Ruach rather than divination, mediums, omens, spells, or familiar spirits.
- Cross references: Leviticus 19:31, Leviticus 20:6, Isaiah 8:19-20, Acts 19:18-20
Authority, dominion, and human vessels
- YAHUAH gave mankind dominion in the earth. Human beings are accountable for how they use the authority and bodies He gave them.
- Cross references: Genesis 1:26-28, Psalm 8:4-8, Romans 6:12-13, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
- Spirits seek expression through willing or yielded vessels. Scripture shows both the Ruach Ha’Qodesh filling people for righteousness and unclean spirits influencing or possessing people for destruction.
- Cross references: Luke 11:24-26, Mark 5:1-13, Acts 16:16-18, Ephesians 2:1-3
- The body must be yielded to YAHUAH, not sin. Satan gains advantage through sin, lust, bitterness, fear, deception, and disobedience, but believers are called to present themselves to YAHUAH.
- Cross references: Romans 6:12-14, Romans 12:1-2, Ephesians 4:26-27, 1 Peter 5:8-9
Demonic influence and spiritual conditioning
- The enemy works through lies, temptation, accusation, and sinful desires. He seeks agreement, but the people of YAHUAH must test every thought and spirit by the Word.
- Cross references: Genesis 3:1-6, John 8:44, Revelation 12:10, 1 John 4:1, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
