Teaching Aim

By the end of this teaching, the listener should understand:

• What it means that YAHUAH is Redeemer.
• What it means that YAHUAH is Husband to His covenant people.
• How redemption and marriage covenant are connected in Scripture.
• How Yahusha Ha’Mashiach fulfills the role of Redeemer and Bridegroom.
• How YAHUAH restores His people from bondage, unfaithfulness, shame, and exile into covenant love.
• How believers are called to respond with faithfulness, holiness, love, and readiness.

Foundational Scripture

Isaiah 54:5

“For your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the Elohiym of the whole earth.”

This verse brings both truths together. YAHUAH is Maker, Husband, Redeemer, and Elohiym of the whole earth. He created His people, covenanted with them, redeemed them, and claims them as His own.

What Does Redeemer Mean?

The Hebrew idea of a redeemer is connected to the word go’el, meaning a kinsman-redeemer. A redeemer was a near relative who had the right and responsibility to rescue, buy back, restore, and defend a family member in need.

A Redeemer Could:

• Buy back land or inheritance that had been lost.
• Free a relative from slavery or debt.
• Defend the family line and name.
• Restore what had been taken, broken, or forfeited.
