Missing context: what is Psalm 19 teaching?

Psalm 19 moves from creation revealing YAHUAH’s glory to Torah revealing YAHUAH’s will, then ends with a personal prayer for cleansing and holiness.

1. Creation declares His glory

• Psalm 19:1–6 — The heavens declare the glory of Elohiym. Creation witnesses without words.

2. Torah reveals His instruction

• Psalm 19:7–11 — YAHUAH’s law, testimony, statutes, commandment, fear, and judgments are perfect, sure, right, pure, clean, and true.

3. The servant asks to be cleansed

• Psalm 19:12–14 — Dawid moves from beholding YAHUAH’s glory to examining his own heart. He asks for cleansing from hidden faults, protection from presumptuous sins, and acceptable words and meditation.

This teaches that true holiness begins when YAHUAH’s glory and Word expose what the heart cannot see clearly on its own.
