Isaiah 45:2 (NKJV) — Is this talking about deliverance?

“I will go before you

And make the crooked places straight;

I will break in pieces the gates of bronze

And cut the bars of iron.”

• “Make the crooked places straight” → removing obstacles and resistance.

Context note (Isaiah 45):

In its immediate setting, YAHUAH is speaking about empowering Cyrus to overcome fortified opposition and open the way for Israel/Judah’s restoration. So it’s deliverance language expressed through YAH’s breakthrough power in history.

“Self-deliverance” — is it possible? In what way?

Key idea: In Scripture, deliverance is ultimately from YAH—not something we generate by willpower. But we do have a real role in responding, repenting, and walking out freedom.

1) Spiritual deliverance (bondage/oppression)

The biblical pattern is not “I deliver myself,” but YAH delivers, and I cooperate.

Practical ways that cooperation can look:

• Repent + turn (renounce sin, close doors, break agreement with lies).
• Ask YAH in prayer for cleansing, freedom, and strength to obey.
