Passage flow (Ezekiel 17:22–24)

1) What YAHUAH promises to do (v.22)

• YAHUAH says He Himself will take a tender twig from the top of the cedar and plant it.
• This highlights divine initiative (not human alliances or political strategy).

2) Where He plants it (v.22–23)

• “On a high and prominent mountain… the mountain height of Israel.”
• This points to visibility, authority, and permanence—what YAHUAH establishes is not hidden or fragile.

3) What it becomes (v.23)

• The twig grows into a noble cedar.
• It bears branches and bears fruit (maturity, stability, fruitfulness).
• “Under it will dwell birds of every sort… in the shadow of its branches they will dwell.”

4) The reversal principle (v.24)

YAHUAH summarizes His pattern:

• Brings down the high tree
• Exalts the low tree
• Dries up the green tree
• Makes the dry tree flourish

This is YAHUAH declaring sovereignty over outcomes—pride, power, and “high places” do not win by default.
