EL Roi — The El who sees me
Genesis 16:6-15; Genesis 16:13
EL Roi means “The El who sees me.” This name is revealed through Hagar’s encounter with YAHUAH in the wilderness. Hagar was afflicted, cast out, and alone, yet YAHUAH saw her, spoke to her, gave instruction, and gave promise. Her testimony was: “Thou El seest me.”

YAHUAH sees what others overlook. He sees affliction, tears, hidden suffering, obedience, rebellion, motives, and the full path ahead. Nothing is concealed from Him.

Hagar’s testimony: seen in the wilderness
YAHUAH is omnipresent — He fills heaven and earth
YAHUAH is not limited by location. His presence is not trapped in a building, hidden from the wilderness, or absent from the deep places. He fills heaven and earth and sees every place.
- There is no place hidden from His Spirit. Psalm 139:7-12
- He formed and saw us even in the womb. Psalm 139:13-16
- His eyes are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Proverbs 15:3
- No one can hide in secret places from YAHUAH. Jeremiah 23:23-24
- YAHUAH says His eyes are upon all their ways. Jeremiah 16:17
- All things are naked and opened before Him. Hebrews 4:13
YAHUAH watches over your coming and going
YAHUAH does not merely see from a distance. He watches, keeps, guards, and preserves His people.
- YAHUAH shall preserve your going out and your coming in. Psalm 121:7-8
- YAHUAH surrounds His people. Psalm 125:2
- YAHUAH keeps covenant watch over His people. Deuteronomy 32:10; Psalm 17:8; Zechariah 2:8
- YAHUAH neither slumbers nor sleeps. Psalm 121:3-4
