Full Context: Scripture shows many reverent postures of prayer before YAHUAH: standing, kneeling, bowing, lifting hands, looking toward heaven, sitting before Him, and falling face down in worship. These positions are not empty rituals or formulas. They are outward expressions of the inward posture of the heart: humility, surrender, repentance, thanksgiving, worship, intercession, and trust.

Standing with Hands Raised

• Exodus 17:11 - "And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed."
• 1 Timothy 2:8 - "I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;"
• Nehemiah 8:6 - "And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. Then all the people answered, 'Amen, Amen!' while lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground."
• Psalm 77:2 - "In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; my hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; my soul refused to be comforted."

Kneeling

• Daniel 6:10 - "Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days."
• Ephesians 3:14 - "For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,"
• Acts 20:36 - "And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all."
• Psalm 95:6 - "Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker."

Face to the Ground (Prostrate)

• Genesis 17:3 - "Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying:"
• Matthew 26:39 - "He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, 'O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.'"
• Joshua 5:14 - "So He said, 'No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.' And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, 'What does my Lord say to His servant?'"
• Numbers 16:22 - "Then they fell on their faces, and said, 'O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and You be angry with all the congregation?'"

Bowing Down

• Exodus 34:8 - "So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped."
