Passage (KJV)

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Verse-by-verse breakdown

Isaiah 55:10 — Rain, snow, and purpose

• “Rain… and the snow”: What comes from above is a gift and a supply.
• “Returneth not thither”: It does not go back without doing work.
• “Watereth the earth”: It reaches the ground (real life). It makes dry places fruitful.
• “Bring forth and bud”: Not only survival, but growth and evidence of life.
• Two results:
  • “Seed to the sower”: Provision for future harvest (multiplication).
  • “Bread to the eater”: Provision for today (sustaining).

Simple picture: ABBA sends what is needed. It produces both increase and nourishment.

Isaiah 55:11 — His Word works

• “So shall my word be…”: His Word is not just information. It is living power with assignment.
• “Out of my mouth”: It is personally spoken by Elohiym, not human opinion.
• “Shall not return… void”: It never comes back empty, wasted, or unsuccessful.
• Two results:
  • “Accomplish that which I please”: His Word completes His desire.
  • “Prosper… whereto I sent it”: His Word succeeds in its mission.
